Russ Wlad

 Russ has over 35 years of engineering and business leadership experience in overseeing the performance of multi-disciplined teams to effectively provide value-added solutions to clients. He has an excellent understanding of government and public sector clients, private land development, infrastructure, buildings, energy and industrial related projects. He recognizes the value of strong relationships and enhancing performance by motivating teams to work collaboratively to deliver efficient and innovative solutions. 

As a former Stantec Executive Vice President and Regional Operating Unit Leader (ROUL) for Canada, Russ was responsible for overseeing the Canadian operations of over 8,000 employees as well as development of growth opportunities in new sectors and expanding markets.

Russ has left his mark on many communities, being involved in iconic projects, including the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre for Sport & Wellness in Red Deer and the Central Alberta Regional Wastewater System. 

Russ has served on many professional committees with APWA, APEGA, CEA and UDI. Russ is a strong advocate of community involvement and has served on several boards and committees for local organizations including the Board of Directors for the 2019 Canada Winter Games, Central Sport, Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Red Deer Regional Health Foundation, and Red Deer Minor Hockey, in addition to his participation as a Rotarian for over 20 years. 

In appreciation for the many contributions he has made to his community, he received a Mayor’s Recognition Award in the Community Builder category in 2016 and was recognized by APEGA with the 2019 Community Service Award and was the recipient of the 2020 Engineers Canada Meritorious Service Award for Community Service.
