Peter Lacey is the founder and former CEO and Chairman of Cervus Equipment Corporation (TSX: CERV), a Canadian public company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. At its peak, Cervus comprised 63 equipment dealerships — representing John Deere agricultural equipment, Peterbilt Trucks, and material handling stores — operating across Western Canada, Ontario, Australia, and New Zealand, with over 1,500 employees and revenues exceeding $1.4 billion. Cervus was acquired by Brandt Tractor in 2021.
Peter holds the ICD.D designation from the Rotman School of Business and the Institute of Corporate Directors (2015) and was a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program.
He was recognized as "Dealer of the Year" for 2014 by the Canada West Equipment Dealers Association, where he also served as a director and past president.
A committed community leader, Peter served on the Red Deer College Board of Governors for seven years, including four years as Chair. He currently chairs the Ad Hoc Committee for Economic Development for the City of Red Deer and has been active in Rotary Club, Public School Advisory Boards, and various city committees throughout his 50+ years as a Red Deer resident.
Peter and his wife Kathy are long-term supporters of Red Deer Regional Hospital and Red Deer Polytechnic and the newly formed Red Deer Homeless Foundation. Through A Better World, they have helped build a school and two medical clinics in Kenya and support a Women's Empowerment initiative there. They have three adult children and seven grandchildren.
